The inability to get it right will ruin your business

There’s one thing you need to understand about being in a home business. If you think that anything besides yourself will make your business successful and keep on prospering, your dead wrong. I’m going to be blunt, that’s pure ignorance. Your business won’t make it!

Getting rid of that notion that something else will make your business successful, if you want to create a network that survives for the long run, no ifs, ands, or buts about it, you will fail like the other 98% have already if you don’t change that attitude, guaranteed.

Realize that marketing is your business, and you will never have to ask anyone to join your network, they will be asking you. You will never have to sell if you do this right. Realize your business is nothing but marketing, and you’ll be getting it right.

You won’t be using business cards or sizzle cards, or even posting flyers when you do it right. If you do it right you will have no advertising expense, your prospects will take care of that for you, and then some. They will pay you to be prospected.

If you build your business the right way, anyone can just plug in and duplicate you, and make money right away. Have a duplicatable system, and do it right, congratulations you changed your attitude of looking outside yourself for success, and are doing it right.

Realize that you will become apart of that 98% if you don’t change and do the right thing. Almost a year I was hanging in there and doing what my sponsor said, and I almost reached through the phone when he told me he wasn’t having much success either. Do the right thing, and you won’t be wasting your time.

I became successful at failing first. I became successful at succeeding, when I stopped spending my lunch money on leads, and looking outside myself for the end result. If you can relate to this, I suggest you do the same!

I will tell you my secret for success in anywork business

How about I give you that missing piece of the puzzle that will bring you life changing results, and put your home business on the highest success pedestal you could ever imagine? It never fails, when I’m away at a event, someone will pull me aside and want to know what this secret is.

This is usually what I here. “Common John, you can tell me, I swear I wont tell any one what you tell me. What is that secret that has made you so successful in networking, how you got your business to where it is? There has to be more than that same old answer you tell everyone.”

These attempts are persuasive, but unnecessary, as I’m always glad to reveal the answer, which is always the same. This is the “real” secret that no one else wants to talk about. It’s the secret that you’ll never find in advertisements or company presentations.

I have to tell you to be on guard, this is a warning. This secret is a very ugly, unattractive let down, that no one ever dares to talk about. When people push me, and I give in and tell them what the information is, they always get mad, and think I’m pulling their chains.

To be honest with you. I used to be the one that always asked this question, And each, and every time I would feel the same way when a mentor gave me this stupid answer, I’m going to share with you. It’s an ugly thing, but it is definitely the reason for all my success, no matter what you will think.

The answer I always give them is this. YOU and YOU only! “They’ll always spout, that’s all it is John? I have bills to pay, and I trying my best to be successful and that’s what you tell me?” Didn’t I tell you it’s the ugliest? So the secret is, there is no real one!

The true network builder keeps an eye open for opportunity, but uses a system of determination and hard work through sacrifice. The common opportunist is an opportunity seeker looking for a way to get rich with some sort of magic lamp.

Jeff Paul Revisited

I think it’s time to do an update on good old Jeff Paul and his “Short Cuts to Internet Millions”. Jeff Paul has had a little time, since the first review I wrote on him, to either improve the way he runs his online companies or continue to run scams.

Well after running a few searches on Mr. Jeff Paul it looks, to me as if John Paul has not changed at all.

Here are two complaints on Jeff Paul I have found on other sites.

12/5/2008 - Marty writes: I’ve done a bit more research. Jeff Paul runs this under variouse company names, and the BBB rates them an F. Multiple complaints like the ones listed on this site. Company never responds to these complaints as the BBB has no enforcement authority. The CA Attourny General needs to look at these clowns that have taken so much from so many. I’ve not found one positive revue of any of his products other than those he’s produced himself on his own sites. Testimonials to how great all this crap works. Cancell your credit card ASAP. Even if you try to cancell with these scam artists, they will charge you again!

.

8/21/2008 - Ted writes: I should know better. Having owned, run, and sold other very sucessful companies, I felt a few thousand dollars was a small investment to help my small staff get a couple of good websites up and operational so we could improve our internet presence. Despite our 35 years of other business accolades we had little internet experience or presence. The materials were sophomoric at best and foreshadowed the competence of the coaches assigned to help us. Jeff Paul’s idea of canned websites turns out to be reselling junk literature from their portfolio. Not exactly as represented when we were solicited or promised over the phone. Of course they sell your name to web developers who try to get a second and third bite. Offers for dozens of valuable services come often. My staff, despite their competence, have gained little in training or competence, as the Jeff Paul system has proven virtually worthless in producing a true ecommerce website worthy of any companies reputation. The infomercial is appealing and obviously works for them. But if your goal is truly to create value for your company or self by selling on the internet. Save your few thousand (even it that is not a lot of money to you), and find a local web developer with great references and a few years of experience they are plentiful. Price paid, lesson learned. Avoid Jeff Paul.

Well people it looks to me like Mr. Jeff Paul hasn’t done a thing to improve his image. In fact it looks like Jeff Paul as continued to scam people right and left.

As I said in my first look at Jeff Paul, “The only thing I can say about Jeff Paul is it would be best, IMO, to stay away from him.”

Jeff Paul’s “Short Cuts to Internet Millions” does have a low cost startup, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg, as you will be solicited for various upgrades, paid training and expensive mentoring After researching Jeff Paul I found tens if not hundreds of complaints about the Jeff Paul system. Many people have paid $1950.00 for the revolutionary system, which claims to provide a 60-day unconditional money back guarantee. Of course the money was never returned. One person was taken for $8,500.00, which was never refunded! This person claims to have tried to contact Greg Wardin the so-called ‘confidence man’ many times requesting a refund. All attempts failed. In fact he has never even been able to reach Greg Wardin. This doesn’t sound much like an unconditional money back guarantee to me. The only thing I can say about Jeff Paul is it would be best, IMO, to stay away from him.

The old school ways spent me out of my business

Suddenly one day you realize you want to be your own boss. Your thinking, why not a home business? So you set up some office space where you’ve got your computer, the printer, maybe a fax, everything a work at home office needs to get started.

Then you start your search. You get online and browse the different directories, buy a couple opportunity magazines, look through a few ezines, even look through the online classifieds. You start to get a bunch of information you requested in your email box, and even get a few phone calls from some pushy reps.

You start to look harder and harder at all the different companies. The different compensation packages. You analyze each companies product line. You think some more, than finally you’ve made your decision. And there you have it, your now an affiliate of one of the best companies on the internet.

Now you log into your brand new back office, and start learning as much as you can about the company. Go through a few training videos, play around with a few marketing tools, then finally give your sponsor a call and introduce yourself, or maybe if your lucky he’ll call you.

Now your going to find out first hand how to make money with your new business. The sizzle cards, your personalized company card, maybe even postcards. And don’t forget to make that list of at least 100 people you know, that’s a must he will definitely tell you. They will be the ones to approach first.

You discover quickly that those things aren’t working. You panic, then build up the courage to purchase leads you will have to call on the phone. Then write down a whole bunch of stuff you think you should say, then get hung up on each time. You keep doing this until your broke.

The old school ways just don’t work. Maybe for a few pit bull type reps working 12 hours a day relentlessly. But for most people trying to grow their home business, old school networking fails every time.

Maybe you can relate to that? That was pretty much how it was for me almost a year ago. I t was getting to the point of no money left for my business, when I stumbled on a article in a ezine one day, and the rest is history. I found the most amazing system that can be put to use by any net worker in their home business. This is a must if you want to make full time!

Cold Calling Mistakes - 8 Things You Should NOT Do!

1) Understand The Call Goal

Before you even make the call, identify the purpose and end goal of your call. What action do you want your prospects to take after the call? If you don’t have a goal, you won’t get the result that you want in the end.

2) Don’t Give It All Away Too Fast

When your prospect says, “Send me some information,” that does not translate into them reading that information. Do not oblige them and send information just as a means to get off of the phone. Find out if they really want the information, or if they are just trying to get rid of you.

3) Poor Telephone Manners

Good manners and phone etiquette seem fairly simple. However, when you are on the phone, you might not even realize that what you are doing is obnoxious to the person on the other end of the line. It is best to not chew gum, eat, drink, or be trying to do other things while you are making a call. You will be distracted as well as your prospect.

4) Not Listening To Your Prospect

If you want to know what your prospect is thinking, just listen to them. Make sure that you do not monopolize the conversation. Poor listening skills will lead to failure.

5) Making Your Fears The Prospects’

Just because your prospect does not have the time to talk to you right now does not mean that they never want to talk to you. Do not jump to conclusions. You may have just caught them at an inconvenient time. Ask them when would be a better time to chat and reschedule your appointment.

6) Failing To Ask Enough Questions

There are things that you need to know about your prospect to qualify them, but also make sure to find out about what they want you to know. People love to talk about themselves, their families, and things of interest to them. You will build rapport with them by being interested in what interests them.

7) Not Being Prepared

You would be foolish to enter into an important presentation with little to no preparation. The phone is absolutely no different. Take some time to think over what you have to say. It might also be helpful to role play with a friend or loved one. Find out what areas you need to work on and smooth out the rough spots.
8) Ask For It

You want to compel your prospect to action. It’s not good enough to tell them, you want them to do their due diligence and look into what you’re telling them. If you ask them to do something for you, then you have an opportunity to follow up with them and make sure that they did what you requested of them.

If you are a small business that is just getting off to a start, you will find that there are a number of different things that you need to keep in mind. 1.) Have a business plan Where are you going to be in a year, in five years, in ten years? The truth is that good companies take the time to plan ahead in this regard. What are your business goals and what do you want out of your business? This can help keep you on track.

2.) The Need to Keep Good Notes It is essential that you record everything that’s happening in your business. There are few minds that have a memory so powerful that they can remember the daily erratum that happens in a business. You must record expenses, take notes and keep up with your paperwork as business is transpiring. At tax time, is not the time to try and get everything together. You should be recording financial events when they’re happening and it’s fresh in your mind.

3.) Bow to the Experts When you’re first in business, the inclination is to try and do everything. While you can’t spend a lot of money, one thing you should spring for is a professional who can keep things straight, ask the right questions and get the necessary information so that when tax season comes around you and the IRS remain friends. A professional accountant is one of the most important expenditures you can make.

4.) Time Starting a new business is tough, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! It does take time and commitment, and while you may have plenty of the latter, the former is often in short supply. Always make sure that you budget your time wisely and that you can stop and think about what your options are going to be when it comes to plotting out how much time you have to spare!

5.) Contacts When you are looking at getting a small business off the ground, never underestimate what you can learn simply from having the right contacts and from taking the time to really figure out what your friends can do for you. Sometimes, having a word said in the right place at the right time can really make a great deal of difference for you.

6.) Research In other words, look before you leap! If you are a small business, you need to know everything about your industry and what it means to get ahead in it. Remember that the more information you have, the better you will be able to meet the needs of the people who are looking to you for service.

Take some time and make sure that you know what you are getting into. Running a small business is extremely rewarding, but you will also find that it can be quite trying as well.
