Using Other Websites’ Forums To Increase Traffic To Your Own Site

Being a writer in forum communities by posting to other web sites’ forums can be a powerful way to promote your website, but care must be used to not cross the unwritten boundaries. Here I’ll look at what you can do, and what you shouldn’t do. And if you want to know more about uncovering affordable website promotion, just follow the link!

First, promoting your site in other peoples’ forums doesn’t mean spamming every forum you come across. Done properly, it is subtle and no-one will complain. In fact, the people who own the forums you are posting on will be benefiting from an active member. Done incorrectly and everyone will complain and you will be booted off the forum.

So what shouldn’t you be doing on someone else’s forum? Unless the topic of a forum is ultra-relevant, you shouldn’t open new forum threads with the idea of promoting your web site. Moderators will quickly close the thread. If you suffer this too often, you will probably lose your membership.

You should also not be replying to open threads just with the purpose of name dropping your web site. This can also upset the moderators and they are likely to remove your site name and its links. They might even remove your posts and your logon.

So what can you do? If your web site is very relevant to the forum then you should be able to announce a new product within the forum. If you are unsure, mention it first in an existing thread and see if anyone objects to you opening a new thread.

But the main time you can get a web site mention is in open threads. Look for people asking questions and in need of some help that your website or your experience could provide for them. Maybe you offer accommodation around an event and they are looking for that. Or maybe they are looking for hard to find presents and you sell a suitable idea. A mention of your website name in these instances is (usually) allowable. If in doubt, just post the name of the website, not a hyperlink. You should be less likely to be accused of spamming this way.

Also, many forums allow you to use a signature in which you can mention your web site name. Or as part of your forum nickname maybe your web site name is relevant. If so, then try it out. I’ve seen both of these done well and no-one minds. In signatures, the forum may block the link to the website from the search engines, but whenever you are posting replies your signature is seen. If you are posting often and become seen as an “expert”, then it’s likely that people will want to read more about what you say and that’s when the signatures come in useful.

Just don’t go randomly posting links to your websites in random forums. Use forums well and they can be your friend. And if you are looking for more tips to get traffic to website, then don’t forget to check out the blog for more tips!

Increasing Your Targeted Web Site Traffic Using Link Exchanging

Link exchanging isn’t just about getting your site listed in directories no-one looks at and search engines ultimately ignore. Arranging decent and honest links can not only increase your traffic but also your search engine ranking. But what is this all about? And if you want to know more about affordable website promotion, just follow the link!

Link building is as simple as you saying to another site owner, “I’ll put a link to your site on mine, if you do the same back for me.” One of the easiest ways of maintaining these links, whilst allowing other people to initiate such links without a lot of manual work on your behalf, is to use a links directory tool. With these a lot of the processes are automated, or at least made easier. It’s a contact point for people wanting to exchange links with you. They can find out how and where to link to your site ; they publish this on their site; they enter the links details into your list and the tool will check that their link is in place and adds their link to your site.

It all sounds very easy! But how do you start off? Where do you find those first sites to exchange with?

Firstly, there are 2 types of exchanges you are looking for. There are those that are for the original purpose - because you can exchange visitors - and those just for link building sake - because every link ultimately helps to increase your search engine positioning. In theory, at least.

Finding link exchanges for genuine traffic is basically about finding similarly themed web sites and getting them to put a link in a suitable page. You want to find web sites that share a theme so that their traffic will be interested in visiting your site when they see the link.

But many websites these days don’t show links in prominent position - instead hiding links away in resources and the such like. No problem, but these exchanges are mainly for improving your search engine position.

With these you want to quickly find other web sites that will exchange links with you. Search for terms such as ‘exchange link’, ‘add website’ and other suggestive phrases along with a word associated with your web site, e.g. mortgages, insurance etc.

Once you find these web sites, look up what their link requirements are and then add this to your web site. Then use their form to tell them where your link is and keep an eye out for the email saying that they have exchanged links.

It can take a while to find such websites and quite often the links aren’t that great, but they are a starting point. Once you get used to the idea you can then start choosing sites based on page rank etc. And once you have a reasonable links directory in place, a lot of people will be coming to you for links, meaning you don’t have to do the hard work! Website Promotion With A Free Manual Traffic Exchange

If used properly, a manual traffic exchange is an excellent way to get tons of quality visitors to your website as well as build your opt-in lists.

How they work is very simple.

After joining a traffic exchange, you will log in and view sites belonging to other members. The more websites you visit, the more visits YOU will get in return.

You get full page views from potential prospects usually costing you absolutely nothing! There are many high quality, established manual traffic exchanges online.

Many with several thousand members all waiting to see your offers or opt into your newsletter. Traffic exchanges have been around for about 10 years now and they are not going to disappear any time soon.

There are two main types of traffic exchange you should be aware of.

They are the manual traffic exchange and what’s commonly referred to as an autosurf.

Manual traffic exchanges are the ones you should use because they require an actual person to be present in order to view the next website in rotation.

This interaction guarantees that your website is being viewed by someone.

An autosurf simply shows one site after another without requiring user interaction to view the next site.

As a result, this gives you what many would call junk traffic since a person isn’t required to interact with the program. For best results, make sure that the traffic exchange is a manual traffic exchange before signing up.

When a product is sold online, it needs constant promotion and advertising.

A good manual traffic exchange is ideal not only because they are free to low cost for the advertiser but because you have a captive, targeted audience looking at your offers.

A majority of the most popular manual traffic exchanges are the ones that are free to join. The members do not have to pay money to register their websites, but with this option you will need to spend some time to generate traffic to your sites in return.

If you are short on time, many traffic exchanges offer traffic packages for very affordable prices.

One of the most innovative manual traffic exchanges available is Promo Lotto.

Promo Lotto launched in late July, 2008 and is geared for Internet Marketers in search of free website promotion as well as opt-in list building. The owners are very dedicated to running a quality program.

Both Steve Ayling and Ryan Hogan have a lengthy background in Internet marketing, so they understand the evolving needs of their customers.

I have made a considerable income with traffic exchanges by getting opt in subscribers to my newsletters and through sales of products through affiliate networks such as Clickbank and a few others.

As time goes by, manual traffic exchanges are becoming more beneficial to their users.

What you want to look for is a traffic program that offers the best tools to help you grow your business as well as an active owner.

Promo Lotto is a good example of this because it broke the mold of what was expected by offering its members much greater value.

It allows you to build your opt in list very quickly and easily, so you get both traffic and leads in very little time.

While using a manual traffic exchange, it is highly recommended to advertise using a squeeze page or an eyecatching splashpage to ensure maximum results.

Finding The Truth About Online Network Marketing Today

Understanding TheStoryAbout Online Network Marketing Today

There was a time when Online Network Marketing was a very lonely place to do business.

You did not get to interact with other workers to build friendships. And unlike a Store Front, no one walks into the door to have a conversation with you.

Then Social Networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, Bebo and others, took off with a bang, recruiting millions of happy campers.

It would not be long before some Online Marketers realize there was an opportunity to use social networking platforms to build business networking sites.

These business-social Networking sites gave their members an opportunity to build Relationships while they show off their programs and opportunities by promoting to each other. It would not be long before hundreds of these sites were filled with thousands of New Members marketing to each other.

In order to make these sites “sticky” they had to enable a lot of fun stuff like glitter graphics, videos, multiple groups, and popularity contests to keep members on their sites. Some even offer to share the advertising wealth by allowing members to collect pennies on posts, visits or clicks.

This, of course, created some conflict of interests between Online Network Marketers and members who just want to meet new people and have fun.

(1) Most members were spending far too much time keeping up with social discussions and not much web marketing.

(2) Those who try to promote their opportunities to community members soon found out that most members would not welcome being promoted to, even if they have the opportunity to promote to them back.

(3) Members also soon found they had no real access to reach the thousands of people on their friends’ or extended lists for any real web site promotion.

This is a complex problem for the serious Online Marketers. Should you concentrate on “Real Web Promotion” like doing article submissions to article sites to get actual visitors; or the “time-consuming activities” that just put you “up front and center” on the community site leader boards?

Although some communities provide email access to all the people on their
friends’ lists or Down lines - the lists are so un-targeted with the same members on each other lists that most attempt to send email messages only result in spam complaints.

THE SIMPLY FACT IS, To Succeed On The Net:

You need free website traffic to your website and affiliate pages that want what you have to sell. And ironically, you won’t find them in these business Online Networking Clubs.

There are about five effective ways to achieve a tsunami of actual visitors to your Online
businesses:

A
Building Traffic in down line Hubs that send you viral visitors, 24/7

B
Building Down lines on traffic exchanges to get instant Page Views for your sites

C

Having a page hanging out in the middle of cyberspace without properly promoting it can feel like being lost on a deserted island with no hope of rescue. However, there are some sure fire ways to avoid this dire fate.

Good advertising does not have to cost a lot of money especially if you are someone who knows a little bit about websites. During construction of your website it is necessary to include Meta tags on the header of the HTML that you are using. This way if your site sells a product, when people search for that product they will be able to get good results.

One of the best ways in which to find out what consumers are searching for is to look at the atrendsa section of search engines. These will rate what search terms are hot and what search terms are not in a very no-nonsense fashion. Check these regularly and update your Meta tags accordingly in order to ensure the top positions on search engines.

Use online video sites as a promotional tool. There are plenty of sites that offer you a capability of uploading and promoting free videos. Upload content of your amazing widget, show someone using it, get testimonials from happy customers, or other valuable information. The sky is the limit! Showcase your work with links to your website throughout the video and you can drive a lot of traffic to your website.

RSS feeds are also beneficial to keep thing up to date and relevant on your site. This way of promoting is a fairly new technology and is sure to bring business. It simply allows current clients and visitors to keep up with current news on your site and will draw in more traffic to see your products.

Pay per click programs are another great way to increase your website traffic while promoting your site at the same time. All you do is exchange links with other businesses and joining is easy and takes no time to install. You can also earn a little income on pay per clicks programs as well.

Another way to increase traffic to your website is to pair up with other companies that sell products similar to your own. This way your link can be on their site and the people will see your link and possibly click on it. If two companies that sell similar products pair up then that means more customers and more traffic.

The answers for how to get website traffic might seem easy, but promotion does take a lot of hard work. Being dedicated and treating the promotion of your business just as seriously as you treat your business itself is extremely important to the success of driving traffic to your website. Using these tools and some ingenuity, you will be a widget millionaire in no time.

The Mistakes

Ready, Blast, Aim your way to the bottom of the internet marketers heap.

Don’t panic though we’ve all done it in some way shape or form. Even the best of the best have admitted begrudgingly of course that they bought product X, tried to sell product Y, or signed up for membership “this” or traffic system “that”.

The reason that they are now regarded as “gurus” is simply that they have probably made more mistakes than the rest of us.

My uncle Bill used to say that “they weren’t mistakes they were just more ‘experiences”. Things that didn’t work today would help us to remember our experiences the next time round.

So, put away your scattergun and build a plan. What type of site do you want, what do you want it to achieve, how much available time have you got and of course do you have any spare bucks in the bank for any hidden changes, variations, costs etc.

Make sure it is a plan that you can commit to and that the people around you know that it is a priority and that it will (hopefully) benefit them down the track.

Remove the obstacles from your success instead of making them excuses.

In the real world all excuses are “created equal”. They are still excuses at the end of the day.

Get yourself some think time, talk to others about you ideas, get input from people who have done what you are about to do and create a disciple and timeline around the project.

Then, its head down and tail up until you get it to a point where you are happy with it.

No scattergun approach for you. It’s planning all the way.

Follow these few simple steps and you will be well placed for success.

Are these things a secret? No, the secret is in the application of these simple processes, not in the processes themselves.

Moving forward creates a momentum that most cases is difficult to stop. The secret is to start moving forward.

Even if it’s hanging on to somebody else’s coat tails to get there.

Even if you make a few mistakes along the way (or have a bunch of “experiences”), you will be much better placed than the person who simply does nothing.

Stick by your guns (not your scattergun of course), travel the full distance and reap the rewards of your efforts.

The old saying goes that “if at first you don’t succeed then try, try and try again”.
Wise words, simple but wise.

If you continue to move forward and continue to step outside of your comfort zone you will undoubtedly get results. They may be smaller than you wanted, or bigger than you expected, but they will be results With results come more and better results.

So take the scattergun out and put it in the trash, because you won’t have a use for it any more.

Follow the secrets to success and Ready, Aim and Upload your way to Internet marketing riches.
